MCX – Know about Multi Commodity Exchange
MCX is the abbreviation of Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. The MCX is a platform for commodity trading. Therefore, MCX is a place where exchange and trade of metal, bullion, agro commodities and energy takes place. Some commodities that are traded include gold, silver, lead, copper, zinc, crude oil etc.
MCX is India’s independent and largest commodity derivatives exchange. It was established in 2003 and is headquartered in Mumbai.
At present, Mr. Saurabh Chandra is the serving Chairman of MCX with Mr. P.S. Reddy as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO). Till 2015, MCX was regulated by the Forward Markets Commission (FMC). FMC later got merged with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on 28th September, 2015.
