But due to lock-down, theaters are closed and no movie released. Presently web series have taken the place of movies. We can say web series have replaced movies during this amid lock-down. They are becoming the heart of the young generation. Web series provide entertainment as well as they leave back moral for their viewers.
Some of the well known platforms that help one stream online include #Netflix (NETFLIX), #Amazonprime (AMAZON PRIME), #Zee5 (ZEE5), #Disney+Hotstar (DISNEY+ HOTSTAR) etc. The present generation does not like daily melodrama serials. They even go on for years and years but web series are generally small and with new concepts and creativity. And, they are not time-bound; we can watch them anytime and anywhere. People even wait for the next episode and seasons.

The series revolves around Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) who for lack of good option takes up a job as the Panchayat secretary of a village named Phulera in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh and how he adjusts with the village lifestyle and his daily struggles.The series along with Kumar features Raghubir Yadav as Brij Bhushan Dubey, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi and Biswapati Sarkar as Prateek.
JAMTARA (NETFLIX)- A web series by Soumendra Padhi
The story introduces us to the phishing operation or fraud in Jamtara district in Jharkhand. The major highlight of the show is Sunny (Sparsh Srivastava), Brajesh Bhaan (Amit Sial), Biswaa Pathak (Dibyendu Bhattacharya). It is a true story on phishing operations and corruption.
PAATAL LOK (AMAZON PRIME VIDEO)- A web series by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy – Best web series to watch during the lockdown
The web series revolves around how a murderer attacked and how the police foiled the entire plan. The leads of this web series are Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat), Imraan Ansari (Ishwak Singh), Sanjeev Mehra (Neeraj Kabi) and Vishal Tyagi aka Hathoda Tyagi (Abhishek Banerjee).
HELLO MINI (MX PLAYER)- This web series is directed by Faruk Kabir
It revolves around the life of a young girl of Mumbai.The web series shows Anuja Joshi as Rivanah, Priya Banerjee as Ishita, Anshul Pandey as Ekansh, Arun Aneja as Prateek Basotia and Gaurav Chopra as Aditya Grover. This series is based on Novoneel Chakraborty’s book MARRY ME STRANGER.
GODLESS (NETFLIX)- This American web series is created, written and directed by Scott Frank
The starring character are Michelle Dockery as Alice Fletcher, Merritt Wever as Mary Agnes, Jeff Daniels as Frank Griff. The main theme of this series is Feminism.
A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (NETFLIX)- This is also an American web series developed by Mark Hudis and Barry Sonnefield
It stars Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf, Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, Malina Weissman as Violet Baudelaire, Louis Hynes as Klaus Baudelaire, Presley Smith as Sunny Baudelaire and Avi Lake as Quagmire. The story revolves around the dreadful events.
LOVESICK (NETFLIX)- This is a British sitcom directed by Elliot Hegarty, Gordon Anderson, Aneil Kaira
The major cast are Johnny Flynn as Dylan Witter, Antonia Tomas as Evlyn. The story revolves around their relationship.
EK THI BEGUM (MX PLAYER)- This is Indian Hindi Series directed by Sachin Darekar based on the theme of women gangster and revenge in underworld of Mumbai
GIRLS HOSTEL (NETFLIX)- The web series is directed by Chaitanya Kumbhakonum and produced by TVF
The series revolves around the daily adventures of four girls,namingly Richa Kamat(Ahsaas Channa), Mili (Simran Natekar), Anandi Joshi aka Jo (Srishti Shrivastava) and Zahira Ali (Parul Gulati)in a Dental College.
ENGINEERING GIRLS (NETFLIX)- This is directed by Apoorv Singh Karki – Fresh web series to watch during lockdown
It stars Barkha Singh, Sejal Kumar and Kritika Avasthi. The web-series is based on the life of girls in an engineering hostel.
