118 APPS INCLUDING PUBG BANNED from today by Government of India. Banned are the apps that trace their origin to China. The revoked tension between the countries on the Ladakh border has caused the government to take the step. The popularity of 118 APPS INCLUDING PUBG BANNED
The gaming app was largely popular among the masses especially youngsters. The game enjoyed the major player base which eventually increased in the lockdown. As per the reports the game had 50 million active players across the nation. With 13 million players knocking daily, this game went on to become an addiction to the youth.
The game is owned by Tencent Holdings Ltd’s. The game has made its way among the 5 most popular mobile games around the globe.
The government of India’s statement reads that the step has been taken keeping in view the sovereignty, integrity, defense, and security of India.

Background – 118 APPS INCLUDING PUBG BANNED
The decision came after the government has already banned 59 apps including massively popular Tik Tok and Shareit two months ago.
Other apps on the list include Baidu, FaceU, and Tencent watchlist.
The government reasoned behind the ban that the apps were found to be guilty of data-stealing. The government said that the concerned apps were transferring the data of the users to a foreign location is an unauthorized manner.
The step has disheartened the players. However, the move is subjected to further India-China relations.(Times of India)
