Journey of Yoga:
The term Yoga comes from two different senses of the Sanskrit word Yuj which means to join Atma (self-consciousness) with the Paramatma (universal consciousness). It is a method of meditation developed by rishis (saints) from ancient India some 5000 years back which is now in practice across the world and continues to gain popularity.
On September 27, 2014, India proposed the idea of International Yoga Day, the resolution was passed by 177 countries in total – the highest number of co-sponsors of any UN resolution till date. Several Hollywood celebrities and world leaders including Ryan Gosling, Katy Perry, and Justin Trudeau practice Yoga.

Yoga cannot be defined only as a set of exercises that keeps the body fit. It plays a salient role in our mental well-being too. It helps us in making a better version of ourselves and channelizes our thoughts, actions, devotion and knowledge. As we begin to understand ourselves better, it enables us to understand others and the society at large. It helps to relax our mind, body and soul and make it stress-free.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, 2021, WATW is encouraging individuals who practice Yoga to participate in our three different events:
The participants will be provided with the opportunity to share pictures of them doing a particular yoga asana alongside the asana name. There will be no bar on the number of pictures a particular participant can come up with. All the pictures shared with WATW will be used by our social media platform for the promotion of the product. The credit will be given for the same. You can share the file with the WATW team through Whatsapp (8335938212, Instagram Handle: (wearethewritersofficial) or any other social media channel.
Reels/ Short Videos:
The participants will be provided with the opportunity to share 10-20 second video clips of them performing a particular asana alongside its description. All the short videos shared with WATW will be used by our social media platform with due credit. You can share the file with the WATW team through Whatsapp (8335938212), Instagram Handle: (wearethewritersofficial) or any other social media channel.
The participant can describe “The Importance of Yoga in everyday life”. The minimum word limit for the same will be 300 words. All the content shared with WATW will be showcased on our social media platform with due credit.
