We all have heard about “Happy Hours”. It is when the bars and restaurants become so generous and give us good discounts on food and beverages. Imagine, you get two dishes for beverages at the price of one. How great is that? Now that’s exactly what National Happy Hour Day is all about.

National Happy Hour Day falls on 12th of November every year. On this day, everyone sneaks out after their long hectic hours at work and just chill and relax.

Happy Hour is a term used to describe the dedicated discount hours that the restaurants and bars offer. During the “Happy Hours” in many countries, a lot of restaurants, bars and other establishments offer huge discounts for an hour or few.

The Tradition

On National Happy Hour Day, that is observed on 12th November every year, people go out after their work hours and avail the discounts waiting for them. The “Happy Hour” generally starts at 5 o’clock on the 12th of November. People go out with their friends & colleagues, have feasts, drink, dance and have fun. And how can we forget those selfies, group-fies, food clicks and Oh! That’s for Instagram! clicks.

Origin

Do you know, this joyful period of Happy Hours roots back in 1914? Yes, it all started with the U.S. Navy during the early days of the First World War. Back then, people aboard on ship indulged in events of entertainment; eating, drinking, smoking, music, dancing and so on.

Later, by the Second World War, the Happy Hours geared up into a trend.

Happy Hours is here like every year to spread joy & happiness everywhere. But, don’t let Covid-19 ruin all the fun. If you cannot go out, fun can come to your home. Prepare good food, get those bottles of juices & drinks and fill up those chips & snack counters. And, Enjoy! With your family, neighbours and close friends. We are sure it is exciting.
