The New year 2022 is just here and we have already made arrangements for your entertainment. The list of exciting new web series in 2022 is out.

From some of the biggest long-running shows like Stranger Things and The Crown dropping new seasons to some of the major breakthrough hits like Delhi Crime and Bridgerton, the list is just waiting for you to have a look.

Look at these new web series coming out in 2022

Stranger Things (Season 4)

The much anticipated and one of the best web series in 2022, Stranger Things, the American science fiction cum horror series, is coming next year. Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Paterson will continue to be the producers of the show. The show was planned to be released in 2021 on Netflix only, had there been no Covid-19 and the resulting lockdowns.

The most celebrated starts of the show Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Will (Noah Schnapp), Max (Sadie Sink), Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Robin (Maya Hawke) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) will return in this season.

The trailer dropped by the showrunners is the first one where Eleven is featured along with Mike, Will, Joyce and Jonathan. Though the release date has not been confirmed yet, we all know how stranger things happen during the holiday season, and hey, pun intended.

Lord of the Rings Series

Amazon Originals purchased the global rights to the TV adaptation of The Lord of the Rings and made it to every headline in the entertainment arena.

The series will take us back in the era to show how great powers were constructed, the story of kingdoms that rose to glory and fell to ruins, how the heroes and the greatest villains were made, and the fantasy world’s hope was on a spider web.

The series will have an ensemble cast, playing the characters of Sauron, Elrond, Galadriel, Elrond’s sister-in-law. The kingdoms of Misty Mountains, the elf-capital of Lindon and the spectacular island kingdom of Númenor along with these characters will leave legacies as they come face-to-face with the long-feared resurgence of evil to Middle-earth.

Ozark (Season 4)

Second in the list of new web series 2022 we have Ozark. An upcoming American Web Series for Netflix created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams and produced by Media Rights Capital. The main characters Marty and Wendy Byrde are played by Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.

They are a married couple who relocate to the Lake of the Ozarks. As the story progresses, after the events of Ben’s untimely death, Ruth’s rift from the family and Marty and Wendy finding themselves completely engrossed by the cartel life, there sure emerge questions that season 4 will hopefully answer.

Jason Bateman serves as the actor, director and executive producer.

Bridgerton (Season 2):

Bridgerton | new web series — Bridgerton

Bridgerton had 63 million views in its first 28 days of release. The show is created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes. It is based on Julia Quinn’s novels which are set in Regency-era London.

Season 2 will chronicle Daphne’s older brother, Anthony’s own search for love. Most of the primary characters will remain the same except Regé Jean-Page, there will also be some new additions to the ensemble cast. Sex Education actress Simone Ashley will star as Kate Sharma, as Anthony’s love interest. In a clip dropped in by netflix, Anthony spots Kate outside a party where he tried to woo her but the lady is a strong headed woman. Kate Sharma will be an Indian origin character which makes it even more interesting to watch how well the makers have worked on the character development in the redefined Regency era.

The filming of the second season began in the spring of 2021 but due to the resurgent outbreak of COVID-19 it had to be paused.

The Crown (Season 5)

The list of best web series 2022 could never be complete without The Crown, a historical drama that documents the reign of Queen Elizabeth II as England’s monarch, portrays a period in the life of the royals. The fifth season will predominantly focus on the time period of early to mid 90s.

From a streamer event, the show’s new Queen Elizabeth, Imelda Staunton introduces herself. She also paid tribute to previous queens, played by Olivia Colman and Claire Foy. We finally get to see Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West in the characters of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, undoubtedly the most avidly awaited characters, as the storyline proceeds into the 1990s.

In the pictures released by Netflix on its official handles, the 3 main new leads; Imelda Staunton, Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West bear a striking resemblance to their respective characters.

The best of all these, season 5 will not be the final season of The Crown. There will be one more chapter to it.

Delhi Crime (Season 2)

The 2020 Emmy winner for outstanding drama series, Delhi Crime is coming with its new season in March 2022. It became the first Indian drama to bag an Emmy for its spectacular narrative and storytelling. The story moves forward without overlapping the previous story, with almost the same primary characters and new plot. Shefali Shah will be back as Vartika Chaturvedi in season 2.

Discover the story behind the crime that changed an entire nation, the minds of people and everything in between. The series might transform itself into an anthology. It will cover some more crimes that happened in the national capital that shook the country. It could be one of the best web series from India. Ever.

The series was directed by Richie Mehta in its season 1 who will not be a part in the upcoming season. He is replaced by Rajesh Mapuskar, whose most notable work is Purple Pebble Pictures’ (Priyanka Chopra’s production company) film, Ventilator, released in 2016. The film went on to win an Indian National Film award in 2016.

The Umbrella Academy (Season 3)

The siblings are back at Hargreeves HQ, the first thing they learn is that it now belongs to The Sparrow Academy. ‘Sparrow Academy is a brand new group of superheroes which is formed by a still-alive Reginald in an alternative universe. Umbrella Academy’s 2022 season 3 return will give Netflix a ground to stand face to face with Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the streaming space’s comic book based stories.

Talking about the cast, there is big news on actor Elliot Page after their gender transition, as their characters was Vanya Hargreeves was a cisgender woman.

The show is based on a Dark Horse Comic series and talks about adopted siblings who are superheroes and are reunited after their father’s demise.

Ultraman (Season 2)

Netflix’s Ultraman is an anime adaptation of the Japanese manga series that goes by the same name. It is a notable add on in Netflix’s anime calendar. Season 2 opens with the story post Ultraman leaving Earth, Shinjiro has fought his way to become the superhero of the new generation. He is a hero in a metallic suit.

One of the major highlights of season 2 will be the Seven Suit or the Ultraman suit’s 7.0 version.

Ryohei Kimura will make a return as Shinjiro as well as his Ultraman incarnation. Seiji “Ultraman Ace” Hokuto (Megumi Han) and Dan “Ultraseven” Moroboshi (Takuya Eguchi) will return to their already deep Ultraman escapades.

Session 2 will quench every fan’s thirst in 2022 spring, after making them wait for 2 years since the first season came in April 2019.

Unsolved Mysteries (Volume 3)

Netflix played the masterstroke in 2020 after resurrecting one of the biggest true crime shows, Unsolved Mysteries. The show went off air in 2002, after almost 2 decades later the popular documentary show made a comeback keeping some of the original features like creepy theme song intact.

The showrunners respected what the original host Robert Stack brough to the show, thus they did not bring anyone as the new face. What a strategy.

The first 2 volumes were a hit and the third is slated in the summer of 2022. The previous volumes included stories of UFO sightings in Massachusetts, a puzzling death in Oslo, and tsunami spirits in Japan. Volume 3 will show more content that cover more unexplained disappearances, tragic events, and outlandish occurrences.

Queer Eye (Season 6)

Netflix’s Emmy-winning series takes us to Texas in the new season. The Fab 5, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and Jonathan Van Ness, are decked out in boots, cowboy hats, and tight jeans as if Texas could care any less.

Amazon Prime Video announced a new series called As We See It. It will follow the lives of roommates named, Jack (played by Rick Glassman), Harrison (played by Albert Rutecki) and Violet (played by Sue Ann Pien), as they attempt to get jobs, make new friends and perhaps, fall in love. And yeah, a catch, they all are on the autism spectrum.

Loki (Season 2)

In the list of New web series 2022, we have Loki. The second season will stream on Disney+Hotstar and is created by Michael Waldron. The series is based on the marvel comics character going by the same name.

Loki is the 3rd series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Produced under Marvel studios, the show happens after the story of Avengers: Endgame. The series will be released in late 2022 if the makers wrap up on time.
