Hospitality, as per google, says, “The friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers”.

During the current situation, most of the world is under lock-down. In most countries, only essential services functioned, until recently.

The pandemic had a serious implication on the hospitality industry, since most hotels and restaurants were shut down. Further, most five star hotels have turned into quarantine zones. It reduced the load on the hospitals.

Most restaurants had shut down, until recently. Even now, in India, people cannot sit inside the restaurants and eat. Though most restaurants offer take-away and home deliveries.

In US, the amount of people who stay in hotels reduced to 38 per cent by March 14.

Most people are now at homes. Hence, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services incur the costs of maintaining their properties causing a major burden.

However, we also need to note that the world will see massive changes in their services.

Most youngsters are at their homes. They choose cooking as a part-time hobby. Hence we can expect more homegrown chefs. Now people, instead of ordering from restaurants, will be cooking their favorite delicacies from their home itself.

It is expected that we will be having services which would enable housewives to cook from home and will deliver from through a service similar to Swiggy.

The restaurants will become more conscious regarding sanitization of their supplies and utensils and also their premises. This would include not just Michelin-star restaurants but also small roadside eateries and small and medium scale restaurants.

Most five and seven star hotels are extremely conscious and after the pandemic, would become more conscious regarding the sanitization of their products , laundry and bedroll.

Most lounges in the airports will have more sanitization.

The sanitization chamber would be a must have in each and every five star restaurant and hotel.

Most restaurants would enforce people sanitizing their hands before they would have their food and also after completion of their meal. It would not be an uncommon sight to see a tap which would have sanitizer coming out of it instead of water.

Most restaurants would become more careful about the hand-washing facilities that they have.

Whenever people would go to try a new restaurant, they would check the ratings given to the sanitizing section as well and then they would take a call whether they would go there or not.

The concepts such as AirBnB would become more common since people would trust going to a home which is well-maintained rather than a hotel which may not be that well maintained.

Most of the cleaning now would happen using robots and humanoids instead of human beings. Most countries like Japan,China and S.Korea are already working on concepts wherein they would have robots replacing the humans in hotels and restaurants. Hence, this would become common in the coming world.

Hence, the hospitality industry is going to see a massive change from its’ contemporary conditions.
